All That is Good and Beautiful

That all women,of whatever rank, profession, or degree, whether virgins, maidens or widows, that shall from and after such an Act,  impose upon, seduce and betray into matrimony, any of his Majesty's subjects by the use of scents, paints, cosmetic washes, artificial teeth, false hair, Spanish wool, iron stays, hoops, high heeled shoes, and bolstered hips, shall incur the penalty of the law now in force against witchcraft and like misdemeanours, and that the marriage upon conviction shall be null and void.

Isn't that completely awesome!??!? It made me laugh. Not that it's really funny. Can you imagine what America (or any modern day society) would do if a law like that was passed? Most of the women wouldn't be married!!! haha  ...AND the uproar!!! NO MAKE-UP?!??! ...all of a sudden there would be a whole lot of women left without their rotten leaning post of vanity.
