Workin' Hard

For some reason I never made it around to posting about our pine tree season. Channing, Patrick and I were busy for about two weeks chopping up pine trees WITH the help of Sandy this time around!!!

That was super nice having a 4th person to help. We really needed extra hands this year too since the trees in woods we were working in were quite tall and relatively dead on the bottom (which is the part we're supposed to chop from).

We spent all of our time making pine bales, but we did help our boss, Dennis, gather pine tips and load and box them! That's quite a workout!

I had the job of preparing the baling twine that Channing used to tie bales with.

Our loppers were made to handle branches up to 1 1/2 inches of thickness. We were chopping branches of about 3-3 1/2 inches of thickness!!!! Eeks!! It was quite a feat. AND I ended up climbing into the trees just to reach some of the branches!!!

We love break time/snack time!!!

The view of the countryside was very nice from the tree farm!!! =)

Over all we put in a little over 50 hours of work!!! Oh, and we had help from my sister-in-law's brother, Kalen!! That was really nice and fun too! Well.... I guess we'll see how things go but I'll be that we'll be at it again next year. :)

Best Add Ever...

Here's a Christmas add. It's a bit early to be posting things about Christmas, if I do say so myself, but it's very moving. Most likely the best add I've ever seen. It was more like a little movie..... a short, touching movie. And so it's worth watching! Hope it brightens your day as much as it did mine.
