Reindeer Milk

DID YOU KNOW..... you can milk reindeer?
As it is the Christmas season and Rudolph and his friends are all over the radio, I thought you might be interested in hearing some interesting reindeer facts!
Reindeer have an average of 20% butterfat content compared to a dairy cow which would range between 3-6% butterfat. Protein content in reindeer milk would be at 10.8% compared to a cow's 3.5%.
Translation: that's some pretty thick, creamy milk! Perfect for making eggnog, maybe?
However, it may be a bit of a chore to get a decent amount of reindeer milk:

...and one would have to question the deliciousness of such milk:

I'd imagine that there's a reason we don't see 3,000 reindeer dairy farms scattered across the country. Plus... anything that can grow horns like that would be pretty terrifying to extract milk from! Cow horns are bad enough! Anyways, just some fun facts for your holiday season! Now you can appreciate cow milk more! ;)
