Getting Rid of Good Will?

If you are a Christian celebrating Christmas, this holiday may be another stressful reminder that you might not be God's elect. ....that is, if you don't read the King James Version.

Today a lovely Christmas card came in the mail from a relative and on the back they had quoted Luke 2:14.
"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

Hmmm..... peace to men on whom his favor rests? I could not actually figure out what version this verse was but most versions pretty much said the same thing , such as:
the NASB,"Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."
the ISV, "Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to people who enjoy his favor!"
the WNT, "Glory be to God in the highest Heavens, And on earth peace among men who please Him!"
...and so-on.

The King James Version reads,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And that was how it was, folks. Baby Jesus was born.... there was peace on earth. There was good will toward men. This was the moment when the Messiah had come! Good will indeed, that God would manifest Himself in the flesh to save the sons of men from their sin!!!

...even Linus knew better than to use any other version than the perfect word of God preserved in the King James Version:

Luke 2:7-14
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Have a very merry Christmas holiday, folks, and rest in the peace of God's gift of grace and freewill!!!
