Hue

Blue

...is the Caribbean on a crystal clear day, from the depths of the ocean to the infinite reaches of the sky. It’s your favorite jeans and the eyes of the one you love. It’s the berries in your mother’s delicious pie, staining the corners of your lips. It’s suede shoes that dance and the mood you work hard to avoid. Blue is the world’s most beloved hue.

Yellow

...is a ripe banana peeled on a summer day by a blonde-haired girl in a sundress. It is the glint of sunlight in a freshwater stream, splashing happily over bare feet. It is the tail of a magnificent bird in flight, gaily demanding to be noticed. IT is heat that never burns and joy that never ends. Yellow is the most gregarious hue.

Green

...is and unmoved field after a rainy spring, swaying in an easy breeze. It is a promise fully realized, the luck that never leaves you, and the aura of the elf who delivers the pot of gold. It is the calm that overtakes the dusk, the scent that fills the air and the thrill of an early dawn. Like the earth that inspires it, green is the good hue.

Orange

...is an irresistible giggle that sweeps through a crowd of friends and circles back for more. It is the juice that gets squeezed from a generous sun. It is satisfaction without effort, charm without magic, and all-night dance without a piper to pay, a heart that is forever young and a spirit most indomitable. Orange is a really light-hearted hue.

Below Zero

The past couple days have been quite cold. Much to cold for my taste... but this is the North after all. ;) Thank goodness though things on the farm have been running smoothly. The greatest thing about such extreme weather conditions are the people who have to deal with them. The numbers of layers of clothes that they put on and the things they do in spite. My mom was talking to my grandpa today and she found out that he was on his way to the park to take a walk around the lake nearby where he lives. Then there is a cowboy we know who had his picture on facebook in a Hawaiian shirt with sun glasses on and the sun all around... and then he mentions the fact that it was finally zero degrees... what a heat wave!!! lol =D The things the folks around here do; what a crack up!!!
As for myself I try to keep to the indoors as much as possible, but every morning at 8 o'clock and every evening at 5 o'clock (speaking of which, is creeping right up on me) I must venture out into the great refridgerator with my three layers of socks, two shirts and a sweater, and pants and long underwear. =) What ever works right?
I wont be sad when the Spring comes though. ;)

Happy New Year!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Wow I can't believe that it's already 2009!! It is crazy to think about. But unlike that last years when I was sad that the next year had come, I'm quite excited about this year. I think it's because this past year was so full I just couldn't ask for anything more out of it. And now we have a whole new year to fill with adventures and fun!
Happy 2009!

Winter and The New Year

Hello, again. It's been a while hasn't it? My bad... I've been so busy lately, with work and Christmas and so much more. I feel like my mind is on a race track going 200 mph... there's always more to think about especially right now.

It's is snowing outside. It's kind of looking like a blizzard. It looks so beautiful though!!! So white and fluffy... absolutely magnificent. It makes me think of the Christmas song that Isaac wrote that goes something like, "and she wants snowflakes in her hair from God's own hand/ and she wants footprints to follow her up the path/ and if that fires getting cold, stoke and blow/ cause Christmas always starts with snow."

It's so much fun to frolic in but not so swell when it comes to shoveling or trying to drive somewhere.

Just think in two days we will begin a whole new year. A whole new year of fun and troubles. lol =D So much happens in a year and it makes it feel like an eternity.

I've been reading Created to be His Help Meet, by Debi Pearl. My Lanta! it's a good book and it really makes me think. Life isn't like a box of chocolates... we have a lot of challenges and there is so much we have to remember. I guess we wouldn't get anywhere without the Lord. I've never had a new year's resolution but I think I might try this year to remember to smile and be patient and to be happy, and content as well. Life is a choice; you can either choose to smile and be thankful or to hate everything about it.

Well off to get some things done. There's always more to do. =)

~Love, Mel
